Before Care

Before care helps prepare the skin and lashes, ensuring a clean canvas for the procedure, minimizing the risk of infections or adverse reactions, and maximizing the desired results.

Lash Extensions Pre-care

  1. Clean Lashes: It's crucial to start with clean lashes. Remove any makeup, oils, or residue from your eyelashes using an oil-free makeup remover or a lash cleanser recommended by your lash technician.

  2. Avoid Caffeine and Water: On the day of your appointment, try to avoid caffeine and excessive water intake before your appointment. This can help reduce the need to use the restroom during the application process, which can disrupt the treatment.

  3. Remove Contact Lenses: If you wear contact lenses, remove them before your lash appointment. Bring your glasses with you if needed, as you may not be able to wear contact lenses for a few hours after the application.

  4. Skip Mascara: Do not wear mascara on the day of your appointment. Mascara residue can make it more challenging for the lash technician to work with your lashes.

  5. Discuss Allergies: Inform your lash technician of any allergies you may have, especially if you have a history of allergic reactions to beauty products. This will help them choose the right adhesive for you.

  6. Avoid Moisturizers and Eye Creams: On the day of your appointment, skip using moisturizers and eye creams around the eye area, as they can create a barrier that interferes with the lash adhesive.

Permanent Makeup Pre-care

  1. Consultation: Schedule a consultation. During this time, discuss your expectations, the desired outcome, and any medical conditions or allergies you may have.

  2. Avoid blood-thinning substances: In the days leading up to your appointment, avoid alcohol, caffeine, and any blood-thinning medications or supplements. This can help reduce bleeding during the procedure and minimize the risk of excessive pigment loss.

  3. Discontinue retinol and skincare products: Stop using skincare products containing retinol or acids on the treatment area at least one week before your appointment. These ingredients can increase skin sensitivity and affect the healing process.

  4. Avoid sun exposure and tanning: Protect the treatment area from sun exposure or tanning beds for at least two weeks before your appointment.

  5. Do not get a chemical peel or laser treatment: Avoid chemical peels, laser treatments, or other skin procedures in the treatment area for at least four weeks before your permanent makeup appointment.

  6. No waxing or threading: Do not wax or thread the treatment area for at least one week before the procedure.

  7. Stop using skincare products on the day of the procedure: On the day of your appointment, do not apply any skincare products, makeup, or lotions to the treatment area.

  8. Avoid caffeine on the day of the procedure: Caffeine can increase sensitivity, so it's best to avoid it on the day of your appointment.

  9. (For lips) Exfoliate Gently: Exfoliate your lips gently a few days before the procedure to remove any dry or flaky skin. You can use a gentle lip scrub or a soft toothbrush.

  10. Lip Health: If you have any lip conditions like cold sores or herpes, let your artist know during the consultation. They may recommend taking antiviral medication before and after the procedure to prevent outbreaks.
